Neurostar Receives Funding from Eastside Partners

Neurostar Solutions, developer and marketer of the innovative Virtual Radiology Network (VRN) and Virtual Radiology Community (VRC) website, has received $4.5 million in financing from Eastside Partners, a private equity fund that targets fast growing companies in the financial services, healthcare and information technology sectors.  The new funds will enable Neurostar to accelerate its expansion into additional vertical markets, such as Orthopedics and Cardiology, as well as broaden its portfolio of managed services.

“We are fortunate to have Eastside Partners join our cadre of strategic and visionary shareholders,” said Willie Tillery, Neurostar Solutions’ CEO.  “Eastside Partners brings to the table specific domain expertise and successful investment experience in our sector.  Combined with the strong momentum built up during the past few years and our growing customer base, we are confident in our ability to take Neurostar Solutions to the next level.”

Neurostar has developed a solution to enable radiologists, hospitals, and diagnostic imaging centers to quickly deploy clinical image management and viewing capabilities in a cost effective manner,” said Emerson Fann, Managing Director of Eastside Partners.  “We believe their unique clinical image management platform and online service exchange position them to become leaders in the new market of outsourced clinical imaging services.”

About Neurostar Solutions

The next step beyond PACS, Neurostar Solutions’ innovative technology is designed to power virtual radiology networks and is the leading platform for outsourcing radiology services.  The unique Web-based image management solution provides secure, reliable and efficient image communication over the Internet to authorized users independent of their location.  Its innovative architecture and universal workflow enable imaging centers, hospitals, and physicians’ offices to share image data with a virtual community of radiologists and referring physicians, helping them expand services, productivity and referrals.

The Virtual Radiology Network (VRN) pulls images from existing imaging modalities and PACS at multiple locations through an integrated network of on- and off-site servers and makes them available to any authorized user through integrated Worklists, streamlining image access and management.  For sites that do not have a PACS, the VRN provides an affordable and easy-to-implement alternative to a traditional PACS.

The Neurostar’s cost-effective, Web-based imaging solution helps practices insure reading by designated radiologist, wherever located, in a timely fashion.  It addresses today’s radiologist shortage, the growing need for specialized image interpretation and the challenges of reduced reimbursements.
